KANDA
The humid and heated jungle lay thick with foliage, strongly eating away at the sight of the ground. The "clearing" was splotched and painted with large plants that tainted partially with pinks and other colors natural to nature amongst the primal greenery. The trees that surrounded the clearing abruptly like a rioting crowd grew thick and smooth-barked, climbing up good heights before disappearing in their branches' leaves and vines. Sight between and past the trees grew horridly dark, keeping nothing but small glimpses of what they held behind them. Rustles sounded and vibrated through the vines in the darkened view, climbing higher to heightened ears than the occasional chirps and calls of insect life about the endless landscape. The imagination of those with sense to fear could create the nastiest creature just beyond their view, doing no good for the situation at hand. A stalking predator, perhaps?
No, nothing of the sort. The supposed predator instead lay in the canopy of greenery above, agile and flexible figure bending and waving with the body of the branch it calmly lay on. The higher off the ground he had been, the cooler the breezes were that reached the feline. He detested the humid heat, just as he pretty much detested everything else. Kanda had been laying about for most of his waking minutes - the trees were his comfort zone and as well allowed him a good amount of safety. Although he could easily hold his own - or perhaps merely his pride and arrogance noted this - the feeling of having himself subject to the will of anything that he came across was degrading, to say the least. He belonged on the higher ground, staring down into the eyes of those that approached him. Even then however, for those he met, he had still been unable to make himself enjoy the company. The pessimistic young male lay on his side casually, head rested between his paws as his eyes glazed up at the slightly-visible sky through the emerald glory of his eyes. The scene of the sky lay in a beautiful shade, clouds seeming to glow gold with the sun's beautiful radiance. Many could remain in awe at the sight as though the heavens were opening for those down below, but leave it to that one pessimistic feline to find something negative. ".. If only the sun didn't radiate heat."

<<--------Loki -------->> The branches that were his home were good friends, and though occasionally those friends were cruel and liked to give out from underneath him, he couldn't seem to stay away from them. The height that offered him, as well as the quick ability to get from one point to another, well, it wasn't clear why other cats didn't dream of obtaining the ability to climb amongst the trees. Though, most cats that lived in this humid and detestable jungle were capable of climbing trees themselves, they just did it with a little less, ah, grace. At least, in his eyes they lacked the grace of he and his. No one really could seem to measure up, now could they? Depends on what you think of as acceptable really. The long shadows and the greenery, as well as the bright flowers and such that went along with it, offered little in the way of cool relief. However, they did offer the sanctuary of being a little more hidden. The blue sky that spread above the forest, was lovely and despite the ability to agilely climb the arms of trees, he always felt a flutter of jealousy at the birds that flitted here and there.
It was while he watched the winged beasts flit from here and there that a flash of oddness caught his eye. It was as if something didn't belong in the tree that was twining branches with the one he was currently stretched out upon. He was at a lower branch than the other, though at that time he didn't know that. It wasn't until he took the time to scan the trees, that he saw it again, a flash of spots. Another cat? Curiosity piqued, he stood, stretching on the limb below him, blue tinged eyes narrowing in pleasure. Carefully, he moved to a higher branch, closer to the other, larger wild feline, but far away that he would have some warning if, and most likely when , he pushed his luck far too far. The muttered words reached him, and white spotted ears flexed forward, and he let his rather vain personality slide over him like oil.
" If only, if only, life is made up of such statements. If the sun didn't radiate heat, we'd all die a damn cold death. "
A smirk curled his features, and a step or two forward, the sun brushing against his fur, tail lying against the branch he sat on, claws sunk slightly into the smooth bark.
"Are we always so negative?"

KANDA
The canopy of branches strongly wove and held under the support of each other, leaving a thicker shade to the clearing below. The space and oxygen that the massive mass of foliage took up created such a thick, humid heat that the Jaguar simply could not stand. It was a "sticky" heat most of the time, and only the rain - although usually hot itself - could quench his growing irritation. Something had sounded now, scathing of claws and bristling of greenery. His eyes honed in on the target instantly, emerald glare catching sight of a small, scrawny thing that edged up the levels of the trees' canopy. His eyes watched the small movements as the smaller feline made its way to his level with some sort of curiosity. Kanda casually turned his attention as though not to have noticed the thing climbing towards him. "It is as they say. Zinātkāre nogalina kaķi - curiosity kills the cat." He only drawled out with an unbiased tone of voice. His words remained low and more to himself - a mental note of the other feline's right away-noticed foolishness.
Kanda allowed the feline to get "comfortable", his emerald stare remained settled down below rather than the feline itself that had placed in a branch not too far away. Perhaps it were not as foolish - putting distance between the generously-larger Jaguar and its own being. "If only, if only, life is made up of such statements. If the sun didn't radiate heat, we'd all die a damn cold death. " How annoying. Now the thing was replying to words unmeant for its tiny ears. Kanda gave out an irritated huff, eyes finally coming to meet the smaller cat for good. "A cold, dark death. It would be quick and nearly painless should one be asleep at the hour of death. Far different than the years that go by with such heat that bleaches life of all comfort." His words were depressing and nonchalant, unbiased. "Although for something scrawny like you, the heat must not be as bad. Less formidable mass to cover." He sharply ended in insult with his ever-stoic voice. "Are we always so negative?" Kanda raised his marked eyebrows with an aged intelligence at the crack of "literalness", his highly-literal tendencies forming his words. " `We` are not being negative. I find that highly inaccurate to place oneself in a situation that he clearly does not belong," He smartly calculated, rising to his agile paws with a slow disdain. He grew into a position of a crouching-prowl, staring threateningly at the small, annoying thing as though he were readying to pounce for its throat. "I on the other hand, am not being "negative". I am being accurate."
