He was used to little noise. Spitfire traveled often, seemingly never being content with one particular place. Dotted sparsely with shrubs, rocky outcrops, the desert, you name it. He was flexible. But no matter where he had once tread the sounds had been soft, subtle. The scuttling of little creatures against the rocks or the gently wheedling of grass stalks; That was what he was used to.
The male's golden pelt rippled as he moved. His large green-grey eyes were pale, shielded and used to the relentless beating of the sun. Here the vegetation offered him a bit more relief, which he was grateful for but at the same time unused to.
The sun had risen no long before. The painted golden of the sky had begun to fade, slowly but surely, into the pale robin egg blue that it now stood as. The sun was pale and clouded,as it usually was in the early hours of the morning.
The caracal's muscles rippled under his tawny speckled pelt. His ebony ears were swiveled forward, quivering to the tips of the delicate tufts. His pupils had dilated considerably, soaking in the rays of the sun. "This isn't that bad. A little bit of change never hurt." He murmured to himself, venturing past the protective canopy.
He was taken aback suddenly by the waterfall, for though he could hear it before the thicket of plants had blocked its full force. Now the cascade of water pounded the ground and roared into his ears. Stunned, Spitfire stopped abruptly. He was hesitant to draw any closer, but the faint feeling of the stray droplets brushing his whiskers was a good one.
He was unsure, so he stepped lightly.
The ferns softened his footfalls, and the water was tantalizingly clear. The foam bubbled where it hit with enormous force against the ground. Spitfire's tall, pointed ears were flattened to block the heaviest bellows that the waterfall emitted. Still he drew closer.
He would have kept going too, toward the flurry of droplets that spattered like a thin mist against his face. However, he was distracted by the faint noise of something rustling behind him, and his ears jumped up. His grey-green eyes blinked once. Twice.
Nothing was there.
Shrugging, he came closer until the water became too much for him to bear, and he slunk a few meters away from the sound.
His rosy nose quivered and the cat coked his head, intrigued.
"I bit of change never hurt."

CANDY CAUSES Sugar Rush ! Pink eyes had been watching the water for hours now, her long tail starting to flick and sway in annoyance. She knew there were fish in this little river, problem was they were lacking in numbers today. Why? What was going on that she was unaware of?
Over the roar of the waterfall just a few feet from where she stood, hearing something, or someone, approaching was very difficult. She wondered if she had missed another's approach that finally scared off the last of the little.. well, fish were just in their own class, huh? Or should she say, school. Candy giggled quietly to herself at the joke as she stared at her reflection, her muswcles slackening. She decided the hunt was a failure, it was time to take a break and try in calmer waters later on in the day.
The lioness took a few wide steps back as her eyes fixed on the otherside of the river. Bushes stood into her way, but being who she was, she had her mind set on breaking through the thick, curled little branches they had. With her long, tappering tail held high, the female feline lowered her chest to the ground, holding her backside high up in the air like a playful kitten about to pounce. After all, that's really all she was.
"One," She started to count down, a silly grin spreading across her maw. "Two," Another step back. The muscles in her hind legs coiled, ready to let loose and throw her forward through the bushes that, she somehow didn't notice, had thorns. Oh well, she'd learn in- "Three!" Now.
With a playful little roar, Candice threw herself into the bushes, her massive weight breaking through the coiled branches. Some of the little thorns only snagged her fur, with other, longer ones cut her skin. Shocked by the pain she hadn't expected to feel, Candice put little care into landing perfectly, letting herself roll on the mossy ground with a pathetic little groan. She landed infront of the caracal that had been wandering around "her" parts.
Candice did very much consider the falls to be her home, and if a pride were to ever take control of it she would fight for it. SHe loved it here so much! Th green grass, the plentiful water, and the fish! Don't forget the fish! As Candy picked herself up off the ground, blood slowly dripped from the many small cuts on her head, chest and forelegs. A scoff of breath left the female's chest as she shook her fur. "Bastard little thorns!" She snapped, glaring back at the bushes she had suddenly bursted through.
As the feline turned her head to look at the bushes, she caught a glimpse of the cat standing infront of her. Large ears perked up and she set her brightly colored eyes on the cat. A male, she noticed easily. A smaller breed, though the name of it she wasn't sure. She wasn't aware of all the breeds, after all so many of them were usually seperated, those times you did come across something new, were you supposed to know right away? No.
But this unsureness of his breed was hardly enough to deter the lioness, who gave a toothy grin and turned her bleeding body to face him. "Hello there, you!" She said loudly. She had a horrible filtering system and couldn't seem to control how loud her voice got. SOme people liked that she just wanted to have fun, others thought her annoying. Oh well, this was who she was.
