While being fearless was good, there was always a limit. A limit that if you crossed, being killed was way too close for comfort. But Akani, she didn't fear death. The only thing she feared was the humiliation of losing a fight. Well, that was the only thing she would admit. The murky water made a sickening "sluush" sound as the big cat made her way to the other side. The water wasn't very deep, but it was still difficult to get through with how thick it was.
An aggitated scoff of breath passed the female's lips as she finally reached the other side of the little river she had come to. Only a small patch of land awaited her on the other side befor she would have to pass through more water, but she was relieved. Mud stuck to her wet paws as she crawled onto the bit of land, the wet dirt clinging to her stomach as she pulled herself out. Red eyes were nearly ablaze with fire as she did this. She hadn't been this aggitated in a very long time.. stupid marsh. Finally though, her paws were on.. well, fairly solid ground. Tigers weren't as adverse to water as the other species of cats, but Akani despised it as much as a house cat. It was nasty stuff! Especially this kind.. ew.
Strong muscles shook her body, throwing off the excess mud and vegetation that had fallen into the water from her body, some of it splashing in the dusky water around her. Heavy paws took a few steps forward as she examined her surroundings. She wasn't sure if anyone was nearby.. she sniffed the air carefully, but with so much of that thick, and rather awful smell in the air, and with the water covering up anyone else's scent as well as her own, h--l if she knew. Her backside went down with a wet thump as she tried to calm herself. Too long had she been traveling on her own through these disgusting lands.. far too long. She wanted to be somewhere cool, somewhere where she could just lay down and relax for once. Ah, but that day would likely never come. So for now, she waited, hoping maybe someone would come by and entertain her.
As she waited, she couldn't help but wonder where her sister was at the time. It had been months since she had seen the stronger animal, and she had only glanced at her while passing by her territory. Thoughts of her sister brought on thoughts of her father. The large male hadn't shown himself to his kids since the death of their mother. Akani blamed him, as she had always disliked him. Don't get her wrong, he wasn't bad, he was just... excentric? Yeah, maybe just a little. She sat there for awhile thinking about that before she realized the pain in her forelegs. A quick glance down offered no answer. There were no wounds, no prickers or anything of the sort.. It must have just been from standing and walking for so long. A huff a breath was followed by those legs being given a rest as he tiger let herself carelessly fall onto her side with another sick splat. She sighed as she layed there, wondering if anything exciting would happen today.

Which is how she found herself at the edge of the dirty swamp on that sunny day. She eyed the water suspiciously, listening for any sign of a crocodile. Many felines said the swamp was home to crocodiles - something Cordelia knew she wouldn't stand a chance against. When she heard nothing she took a tentative step into the water. The cold shocked her at first until her nerves settled and she took another step. Why was she walking into the dirty water? She had no idea, she just had a random impulse in go walk over to the little patch of land near the middle of the swamp.
Cordelia could feel the mud lacing with her yellow fur making her cringe. She was never a fan of dirt or mud and having this mud cake her fur was some kind of terrible. She was too far in now to turn back, the little island was a couple feet away. Sucking in a deep breath the lioness took another step, followed by another and another until her paws found land. She let out a breath she had been holding as she shook off as much water and mud as she could. Instantly she sat down and brought one paw to her jaws as she lapped her tongue over the large paw cleaning it of the dirt and mud she brought back from the swamp, her tail whipped from side to side, the black 'tassel' at the tip of her tail flicked mud around her.
She licked at her chest a few times until she was satisfied that she was clean enough. A soft purr escaped her jaw as she looked up. Her eyes scanned the little patch of land, soon they came across a large lump of orange and black fur. Cordelia let out a whimper as she cowered from the large beast, as soon as the whimper left her lips she regretted it knowing the tiger probably heard. Backing away as much as she could she plopped down on the soil, watching the tiger with observing eyes. She was stricken with fear as she stared at the tiger. The tiger was probably twice her size. While Cordelia was just over 200lbs the tiger was probably 300lbs if not heavier. The tiger's pelt was orange with black stripes across it's body. From where Cordelia was laying she couldn't tell if the tiger was a female or male. She guessed the tiger was female considering she looked much smaller than the male tigers Cordelia had seen.
Mud caked the tiger's body leading Cordelia to think she or he had traveled through the swamp like Cordelia had. If Cordelia had to guess she would say the tiger looked bored laying there, dripping with muddy water. A little annoyed too, maybe the tiger didn't water. Which seemed kinda strange to Cordelia who regularly saw tiger playing in the water.
Her stomach was filled with butterflies as she wondered what the tiger would do if he or she stopped Cordelia. Her mind flashed with possibilities of what the tiger would do to her. Would the tiger kill Cordelia? Or would he or she simply taunt the weak lioness.
Letting her bottom jaw drop a little she took in every scent she could. Instead of smelling the tiger she was overwhelmed with scents of the swamp. She clamped her jaw shut, placed her head on the ground holding her breath hoping the tiger wouldn't spot her.

TELL ME THAT YOU'VE GOT EVERYTHING YOU WANT&& Y O U R B I R D C A N S I N GBUT YOU DON'T GET ME, YOU DON'T GET ME
A small rustle sounded from the leaves above. A bird, it's colorful feathers blotched with reds, yellows, blues - a sharp contrast against the darker leaves surrounding. Beautiful chirps and clicking sounds made up the noises around the area, occasional splashes of fish in the marshy waters and the flapping of wings only breaking the serene place. Of course, the paw steps of a feline - a large tiger, to be exact - sounded from only a little further away. But, alas, she wasn't the only one roaming the marshy grounds. Whether that could be considered a good thing or a bad thing was up to what she thought of the young male roaming the area...
Oh yes. A sleek feline, about twice the size of a house cat and yet so easily disguised as one, was lurking among these grounds. That is, if what he was doing could be considered lurking. The male pushed out of the bushes, and suddenly, his voice pierced through the noises around. "Right, right, you're bloody well right! You got a bloody right to say!" Birds flapped their wings rapidly, startled by the male's sudden outburst. A splash sounded as he leaped into the murky waters, just barely missing a bright silver fish as it darted away. "Right, you're bloody well right! You know you got a right to say!" He stared after the fish, a smirk across his muzzle. He wasn't hungry. Oh, not at all. He was simply having fun.
Another splash sounded as the male continued his little frenzy, pouncing on any random fish he could find that still dared to roam the waters around him. "Ha ha, you're bloody well right! You know you're right to say... yeah, yeah, you're bloody well right, you know you're right to say!" Any nearby feline may have thought he was simply insane. But, no, in fact he was far from that. He was perfectly sane. Simply immature, unable to act his own age as others often told him to do. He was just about to continue singing whatever strange tune it was this time until he tripped, finding himself face-first in the deeper waters. "OW. Okay, now that's not even fair. That could have easily been somebody else." He growled to himself, his paws kicking up water as he dragged himself closer to the edge again. Yes, maybe he liked swimming, but that didn't mean he exactly wanted to swim in that particular body of water. He let out a low sigh as he dragged himself back onto land.
Then the scent hit the young male. He paused, stopping his actions for just a short moment as he took in the scent. A tiger? And a female, nonetheless. How fun. He chuckled a bit, his nose to the ground now as he trailed along the scent. It was recent, which meant...
And he was right. Eventually he stopped when the scent became so strong it stung his nose, looking up only to see a large tiger plopped down onto the soaked ground. He smirked, sitting down and curling his strong tail around his silverish paws. "Hello~ My name is Vinzent, but you can call me whatever you like." Another low chuckle. "What are you doing here?~ I thought tigers didn't normally like to hand around these parts. It's quite strange really... I find it quite enjoyable apart from the smell and the dark water." He nodded. Now that Vinzent started rambling, he most likely wasn't going to stop until the female said something. And then he'd ramble about that. Oh how the female had fallen into the hands of the wrong kind of company. "I like the birds here too. They sing very pretty songs. And the fish are big, so that's good too." The male's fur, which was almost soaked before, was slowly drying now as the water dripped from his coarse coat. "Really though, I thought tigers liked the jungle and such much more than marshes. It's been a while since I've seen one here." Of course, he continued rambling about who knows what. Everything. The sky, the water, the fish, the birds, the female herself. She would have to stop him from talking sooner or later, but until then, he was just going to ramble. Oh, how he rambled.

Fear.
A deep breath was taken in through the large feline's nostrils, her mouth opening a bit habitually. Her eyes nearly rolled back in pleasure. Fear was like a drug to the tiger, but it was nothing compared to the frenzy blood and death forced upon her mind. As red eyes came back into focus a grin spread across her maw, a dark air coming from her now. Claws unsheathed anxiously as she awaited for her new target to come close enough she could roll over and pounce, bury her teeth into another's throat and take their life.
The scent of mud grew stronger for a moment, Akani's muscles giving an involintary jolt, impulse almost winning over her better thoughts. It was always that way, the female's mind was always defeated by impulse. The sounds of a cat cleaning herself made Akani's small ears twitch back. This cat was taunting her! With another sniff or two, the tigress decided the cat was in fact a lion. Smaller than a tiger like herself by all means, but Akani always had been a bit weaker, certaint lions could even be challenges for her.
A whimper. A thump. Another wide grin. Red eyes glanced back a bit and caught a quick look at the lioness behind her back. Oh, how exciting, prey! Just as Akani started to move to lunge at the fear-filled little lion that made her go wild, she found herself interupted by another voice. A rather annoying voice, in fact. "Right, right, you're bloody well right! You got a bloody right to say!"
Red eyes blinked curiously, the feline laying on her back at the time now, her stomach open to the air around her that cooled her slightly as mud still dripped from her fur onto the muddy grass below her. Her ears perked up as she listened to these words, the lyrics of a song she assumed. Odd. Large head tilted slightly, passing the lioness with less than a care now, though in ther back of her mind she still longed for her blood. And her life.
Splashes echoed around her, smaller splashes of fish, and more breaks in the water's surface of a larger creature's doing. Not too big, but not too small either. Red eyes searched the marsh lands, finally her sights setting on a male fishing cat face first in the murky water. A light smile of amusement crept onto the female's face, that dark aura she had lightening a bit. She may have been a hard person to make truly happy, but making her laugh was the easiest task. At the male's words Akani giggled a bit in her throat, shaking her head slightly.
The large animal finally rolled over onto her feet, long legs being forced straight under her weight. Her once broken paw spread out oddly when pressure was placed upon it. It never had fully healed right after that male attacked her that last time.. no no, she wouldn't let those thoughts ruin her day, not this time. As she stood, she heard the voice much closer than before, and speaking to her now. "Hello~ My name is Vinzent, but you can call me whatever you like."
And then it didn't stop. Quite honestly, the tiger's urge to murder the fearful lioness was gone, and replaced by new-found anger of this smaller, more annoying cat's presence. Her ear twitched involintarily, and she snapped without a second thought. Jaws parted to let out a furious roar, exposing large teeth as she sprung forward with the use of her more powerful back legs towards the fishing cats, claws out and ready to rip him apart if he didn't move. Easily annoyed as she was, little pests died at her claws daily.

[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true] Spheres of crimson briefly were disclosed by thin lids as a generous amount of oxygen was pulled into vast lungs; exiting through rotund nostrils as a silent bundle of carbon atoms afore the scenery was again revealed to scarlet eyes. The Jungle was still something completely unreal to the male. He had been imprisoned in a dark cage for most of his life, therefore thieving from him the right to properly acquaint himself with the wild. However, he had to admit he was most displeased with the unpleasant warmth of this season. He guessed this was because his breed was built for colder climates with their thick, impenetrable coats. Winter was -by far- his favorite time of year. And the first time he had become acquainted with snow was simply miraculous. He rather enjoyed the fluffy, white substance that covered the ground in such voluminous mass. It was stacked so high that sometimes it even brushed the soft underside of his belly. It made him so happy and –somewhat- playful… though he’d never admit it.
The massive beast had sprawled out on a thick mass of branches above the hot ground to relieve himself of the unpleasant heat. He was relaxed and completely content with taking a nap; but when the scent of a fear wafted heavily through the air, he immediately sprung to attention. It was a familiar stench to him --- he had smelled it on the humans that used to train him when he was younger. Then again, who wouldn't be scared shitless by a beast that -when on its hind legs- was nearly three times your height? It was only natural. What puzzled the tiger was that the frightened aroma did not belong to a prey animal; instead, it belonged to a feline. And with that thought, he slipped easily from his current perch upon a high-up branch of a large tree and followed the fragrances. However, he still remained in the tree tops --- stealth being his method in case he needed the element of surprise.
It was not long until he spotted the small group: a lioness, a tiger, and some small cat that he had never seen before. The fear-scent was coming from the lion --in response to the tiger, he assumed. She was quite large for a female, he had to admit. But when compared to Amoraq, her size wasn't too impressive. He weighed about 690 to her estimated 300 and was about twenty inches taller than she was. Then again, Amoraq was a freak of nature. It surprised even him that the branches beneath him did not bow under his mass. His calculating gaze observed the events below him, noticing the tigress become agitated as the small feline kept talking. In his defense, the poor thing was trying to be friendly. Then, she snapped. She roared and lunged at the tiny cat, her intentions clear. A snarl of warning rumbled deep within Amoraq's massive chest as he dropped with unbelievable quickness from his perch and landed between the two; standing protectively over the victim. Ears flattened against his skull as his lips peeled back to reveal impressive fangs. Jaws parted as he released a deafening roar to -hopefully- stop the female's attack.
After all, if she didn't stop, she was quite stupid.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,false][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,341,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i477/rhythmoflove93/CORDELIAM.png]The scent of fear radiated off the lioness and within moments the tiger smelled her and seconds later saw her. The tiger was just about to lunge at Cordelia when the feline cowered, ears flattened against her scalp, her eyes shut tight, a pained whimper escaped her lips as she braced herself for the impact of the tiger's body. Her body was trembling with fear, she knew the smell of fear was probably oozing out of her. When the hit didn't come her nerves slowly began to settle as she opened her eyes into slits. The tiger had seemed to find interest in some other feline. The feline was a Fishing Cat, male Cordelia guessed, who had said his name was Vinzent. Sniffing the air she realized the tiger was a female. A part of her was happy the tiger's attention was somewhere else but still, she didn't want the male to get hurt.
The tiger roared loudly making Cordelia cower and whimper. The lioness knew the fishing cat would probably die. She instantly started to think over the options, the ways this situation would go. She didn't want to see the poor thing get hurt and even if she did start running that second the tiger might go after her again. Gulping loudly the lioness spoke; "Hey! Don't hurt him he didn't do anything to you!"
|
Cordelia stood as she defended the Fishing Cat. Yeah, she knew she might as well be saying 'HEY i'm fresh meat waiting for the kill, come on and get me!' but she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she let the male die without doing anything about it. Seconds after she tried to defend the small male a even larger tiger came and jumped in the middle of the female tiger and male fishing cat. Cordelia flinched as the male tiger came into the picture. Her gut told her the male wasn't here to hurt her but her instincts told her to brace for a hit. Cordelia looked from the male tiger to the female comparing them to each other. The male was huuuge probably three times the size of the lioness and twice the size of the female. He looked to be packed with solid muscle, Cordelia knew he could take the female, but she didn't want any violence to come of this encounter. She continued to look from one tiger to the next, wondering what she should do if one tiger did attack. Frowning, Cordelia hoped the female had enough sense to back down. w o r d s - 423. t a g - shakes/akani. vinzent/vinzent. rainy/amo. n o t e s - Not all that good. xD[/blockquote]
