THE CREATION OF BAKARI BIG CAT RESERVE, HOME OF THE BAKARI WILD FELINE PRESERVATION PROGRAMME - HISTORY !
Asia is the home of perhaps the largest wild feline reserve in the world. It took years to build and complete, and once the final finishing touches had been made, cats from all over the globe were brought to Bakari in hopes of one thing and one thing alone. To increase the population of not only the main five big cat species, but also the smaller wild cat species that aren't particularly well known. Because they're all dying out, and have been for a while. Bakari is set only a few years in the future, and scientists, veterinarians and conservationists across the world have come to work at Bakari to monitor the population of the cat's on the 2,900km² - almost twice the size of the Masai Mara National Park in Africa - reserve, that covers not only sparse desert and grassland, but high mountains and a land of freezing tundra, where the thicker furred cats are sure to thrive. Towards the other end of the absolutely collossal paradise is the jungle and swampland. So really, Bakari is in the perfect location for the many varieties of cats that come through their gates on a regular basis. All over the globe, Bakari's several teams of vets, rangers and general big cat specialists are capturing all the young and healthy wild felines they can find. They capture whole prides if they have to, as splitting up families is just cruel, so when they can and if it calls for it - as lions are the only big cat that live in groups, along with male cheetahs on some occassions - they bring the cats over as a unit. Over the years, more and more cats have been added to the general population of the felines of Bakari, and to them, this is still the wild. Some cotton on that something's up with their surroundings, and to most it's definitely not home. But they have no idea that wherever they go, there's at least one or two humans that know in which area of the reserve they are, thanks to the microchip implanted in their scruff.....
And of course, the scar is so small, it's like it never happened. The cat's are free to wander the fence, and should a cat ever come across the fence, well... What can they do about it? They're still wild, but not free. They'll never be free with those fences around them. But as the humans say, it's for their own good. So for the cats within Bakari reserve, life on the whole is pretty tranquil. Families are thriving, and prides are forming. But after all, nothing lasts forever, especially not peace....
