Near the center of the vast savannah, beneath the shade of a large acacia tree, sat the brute with the heart of a playful kitten. The sparse rays of sunlight peaking through the canopy of leaves warmed his sandy hide after his morning hunt. Luckily for the rogue, his hunt had been successful after much failure in the prior days. By chance, Sefu had happened upon a young gazelle, whom had fallen asleep and eventually fell victim to the beast's growing hunger. There had hardly been a struggle, which went well with the coward's lack of ambition for a difficult fight. Overall it was a feast fit for the king of beasts, Sefu devoured the gazelle until he was content. A couple of young cats, as well as other scavengers, had happened by the kill, so the older lion left a little something for them. His golden eyes were shut as he sunbathed, but his ears gathered every sound near him just incase anything approached him. Sefu wasn't sure if he was in a pride's territory or not, the scent of other cats lingered, but the lion hadn't laid eyes upon any others. With that in mind, Sefu was a bit more at ease, plus it was the perfect day for relaxing, especially since the lion had a full belly. And Sefu did just that. Most of the morning, after his hunt, was spent drifting in and out of sleep but he was wide awake now, for the most part. His eyelids drifted open when a couple of hoofed animals trotted past the large cat. They stopped and stared at him for a moment, Sefu thought they were pretty dumb to stop and gawk at him. "Don't worry, i'm not hungry," chuckled the lion, the animals kept going. An unfamiliar scent wafted through the air and filled his nostrils. Another cat perhaps? Sefu stretched out his back, a yawn escaped his powerful jaws, then sat up to take a look around. Nothing out of the ordinary caught his eye, but his nose told him otherwise. Sefu wasn't too concerned though, since he could see no real danger approaching him. The lion was like a sitting duck, in the open savannah, but he figured that, if something was going to attack him, they would've done it already. ( Not very long, but hopefully it will do )

OOC:: Here I am, sorry it took so long babe >3
BIC:: Nala by now had lost count of how many miles did she walk, her strides slowly growing longer, seeking shade for the sake of staying alive. Once more she had wandered out form the perimeters of her pride, always wanting to be out and about, only returning for the night or for any announcements. Flies buzzed along her frame as her coat would slightly tremble each time her paws would thud against the ground, pools of white foam had already been present along the gum line of her fangs, besides her tongue. She was tired, and it was very apparent, her nose caked in mud as she stopped, facing a herd of wilder beasts up ahead. They seemed to tense up to her presence but she quickly growled below her breath and walked onward.
With her head held lowly, eyes barely blinking she walked on, the sun simply giving her back all the rays it could possibly muster. They grunted and moved out of her way as she moved on through, not dominant but very proud, knowing she had the power to move just about any animal in the right time. A peculiar creature caught her attention, making her look up, eyes slowly narrowing. It was a lone, sickly hyena, wandering about aimlessly, it's bushed tail curled downwards, ears flat against its dirty brown skull. Quickly Nala let a slow snarl eminent from her snout, tail slowly ticking back and forth down behind her back legs. It wouldn't be cat and mouse this time around as she stood her ground, watching the hyena take notice of her form being there. In haste, it did the ugliest face she had seen, lips curled back over rotting, yellow teeth, something that hinted very old age on this creature.
Nala simply chuckled before shaking her head and bringing her rear down into a sitting position, crushing any wild grasses that were behind her. From here she would watch the ancient hyena try to chase down a wilder beast to no avail, a light laughter breaking from Nala's maw. "Better luck next time sucka'!" The lioness sneered to the hyena before getting up and loping towards the shade of an Acacia tree a few miles out. There was no wind, she could not smell anyone else out here but herself and the random hooved prey that would cross her path or simply move a few safer inches from where she was headed. Silver beads slowly spilled over her lower jaw as she had been going at a faster pace, the little comical show from that soon-to-be dead hyena putting her mood in a better way.
Now she was about a good 30 yards from the shade before she stopped and looked ahead, the frame line of a male siting up came to her eyes. She didn't know what to make of this, but she wouldn't be shy either, Nala was never shy. She could be a king in her own right mind. Slowing her strides she continued walking forward, his scent finally curling up her nares as she studied him while walking. He bared no scent of many's, he was a rouge. |

As the lioness approached, her faint scent grew ever stronger, but was still overpowered by the stench of the other, more plentiful creatures that were out and about on that particular day. In the presence of the two lions, the other animals seemed to thin out of the area, not that he really paid any mind to that. His full attention was focused on her, now that she was visible and not more than... 30 yards away from his quiet resting place. Sefu was surprised that the lioness approached him with very little investigation, even though he was hardly a danger to her at all. Upon inspection, the lioness looked tired, but rather confident still. Perhaps the smaller cat was just seeking shelter. Sefu glanced up at the sky, the blistering sun soon turned his gaze back towards the ground. Of course, Sefu didn't mind sharing his little piece of shady paradise with a fellow feline. And if the lioness didn't want to share the tree, Sefu was fine with that too, he'd taken a long enough break anyways.
But something about this lioness did spark his curiosity. Now that she was nearer to him, her scent was far more complex than he had originally though. Sefu had originally thought that there was a couple of cats, unless there were more hiding in the tall grass, but he had only been mistaken. It didn't take him long to infer that she must belong to a nearby pride. The thought of her pride following after her did worry the rogue a bit. Since he had entered the particular area, Sefu hadn't been sure if he was on a pride's territory or not. Perhaps she came to him peaceful as a warning. The cowardly lion definitely didn't want any trouble and was already planning an escape, if needed. Sefu wasn't quite sure what it was, but the lioness didn't really seem like she wanted any trouble. His mind, oddly, felt quite at ease. The lion's tail nervously swished from side to side a couple of times, stopping once she was within a closer range.
Wanting to appear more confident than he actually was, Sefu straitened himself up, rather than remaining in his slump of a pose. Even though the lion was a bloody coward, he was actually quite an impressive sight. Sefu was quite well groomed, considering he was always on the go, there was, however, a bit of dried blood on his face from earlier. "Good afternoon," Sefu paused for a moment, "Or is it still morning? I can never really tell." Trying to start off in a light hearted mood, the lion added a chuckle to ease any tension that he felt creeping through his body, and mind. His tail resumed it's early motion, swaying from right to left, this time to display a more playful mood.
