It has been known that the race of lions are now endangered. Much due to poaching and extinction of habitat. Humans have been driving into their territory staking claim, eliminating them when lions become a nuisance. Many cubs have been slaughtered for this reason, along with whole prides. Those who are fortunate enough to survive such lethal and savage attacks run deeper into the Savannah. The only thing that keeps them going is the legend of Oni Onawa.
Oni Onawa is land untouched by humans or disease. Its only ruler is Mother Nature herself and she decides the outcome of many things. This land was bred after a series of quakes and land movement and no one had been able to penetrate it for years. Prey is abundant here until the dry season comes. They migrate and Oni Onawa is often left alone until the next season. Those animals that remain find it impossible to migrate such as hares and other small creatures. They have been left undisturbed until a lion wondered in following the herds back.
The borders are closing soon and the prey have begun to come back and settle in. Lions who have been following the herds have now stepped inside this paradise. They come to realize this paradise is real. Now those who remain within Oni Onawa wish to create new lives for themselves in these lovely lands. No longer in fear of disease or poachers. No longer in fear of humans or fear of starvation.
